K. Ranjith, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate in Dharmadam, on Saturday (April 4), alleged that there was a deal between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan in Dharmadam and Peravur constituencies. Addressing the media in Kannur, Mr. Ranjith claimed that the electoral contest in Dharmadam was essentially between the Left Democratic Front and the NDA, asserting that the United Democratic Front candidate’s campaigning was nominal. He further alleged that crores were being spent on the Chief Minister’s campaign in Dharmadam and demanded that the expenditure be verified by the Election Commission. The NDA, he said, would lodge a formal complaint seeking scrutiny of the campaign expenses.
