Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: Home voting sees over 96% turnout in Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta district has recorded an impressive 96.87% polling in home voting among voters aged above 85 and persons with disabilities in the Assembly elections.

Out of the 9,341 eligible voters in the 85-plus age category, as many as 9,022 cast their votes, registering a turnout of 96.58%. Among persons with disabilities who had opted for home voting, 1,834 out of 1,866 exercised their franchise, marking a higher turnout of 98.29%.

The highest overall polling was recorded in the Adoor constituency, where 1,468 out of the 1,499 voters aged above 85 cast their votes. Among persons with disabilities, 383 out of 392 participated, taking the constituency’s total to 97.88%.

Among the elderly voters, Aranmula recorded the highest polling at 97.93%, while Konni topped the list among persons with disabilities with a turnout of 99.21%.

Meanwhile, District Election Officer and District Collector S. Prem Krishnan has directed polling officials to cast their postal votes at voter facilitation centres set up in training centres on April 6 and 7, in a bid to avoid overcrowding at vote distribution centres.
