With the exception of Kannur, voter turnout across the other five northern districts showed improved participation in the Assembly elections compared to 2021. Among them, Kozhikode recorded the highest voting percentage in the State at 81.35%. At the constituency level, Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode stood out by registering the State’s highest turnout—an impressive 84.83%. Political fronts, meanwhile, have interpreted the higher turnout to suit their respective narratives. The ruling CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) views it as a reflection of public trust and support for continuity.
