District Collector and District Election Officer Snehil Kumar Singh has said that the commissioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the Assembly elections will take place on April 2 and 3.

Arrangements have been finalised across all 13 constituencies. The commissioning will commence at 8 a.m. in the presence of the candidates’ agents, he said in a press release on Tuesday.

​EVM commissioning is the process of preparing the machines for polling by setting the candidates’ names, symbols, and the time, ensuring that they are fully operational. Once this process is complete, the machines will be stored in strongrooms until they are distributed on the eve of the polls.

The following are the Assembly segments and the venue of EVM commisssing: Vadakara: Madappally Government College; Nadapuram: Madappally Government Girls Higher Secondary School; Kuttiady: Memunda Higher Secondary School; Koyilandy: Payyoli Government Vocational Higher Secondary School; Perambra: Perambra Higher Secondary School; Balussery: Kokkallur GHSS; Elathur: Westhill Govt. Polytechnic College; Kozhikode North: Vellimadukunnu JDT Islam Educational Complex; Kozhikode South: Malabar Christian College; Beypore: Meenchanda Government Arts and Science College; Kunnamangalam: Kozhikode Government Law College; Koduvally: Koduvally KMO HSS; and Thiruvambady: Koodathayi St. Mary’s School.
