Hundreds of government officials deployed for election duty on Wednesday and Thursday are feared to have lost their chance to cast their votes, with many pointing out that they were required to report for duty before receiving their postal ballots.

Despite a High Court directive that postal ballots be delivered to the respective centres by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said several centres had still not received them even by 5 p.m.
