Candidates in the fray for Assembly polls in the district were engaged in last-minute visits to households, shops, establishments, and prominent personalities in their constituencies, besides making personalised phone calls seeking support on Wednesday. K.N. Unnikrishnan, Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate in the Thripunithura constituency, began the day with an early morning visit to the Champakkara market. Though technically part of the Thrikkakara constituency, the market draws a large number of fisherfolk from Udayamperoor and Eroor, which fall under Thripunithura. He also visited a CPI leader injured during the campaign finale and undergoing treatment at a hospital in Palluruthy. He also rang up to inquire after another worker who fractured a hand and was recovering at home.
