The Kerala Catholic Bishops Council (KCBC) has called for special prayers in churches for peace to prevail, in the wake of the ongoing violence, deaths and destruction in West Asia. In a press release, KCBC president and Archbishop of Calicut Varghese Chakkalakal expressed hope that the spiral of violence in the region would end soon. This is a time to extend all possible help to those affected. It is unfortunate that world leaders are unable to view war as a sin and a selfish act, especially when most of the victims are innocent civilians, he added.
