The first manufacturing unit of Kaynes Technology, an electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) company, will be opened at the Perumbavoor Industrial Park developed by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) on February 11.

The industrial park land was formerly owned by Travancore Rayons Company at Chellamattom in Perumbavoor. It was later transferred to KINFRA. Minister for Industries P. Rajeeve said in a communication that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed on the occasion between Keltron and Kaynes Technology as part of manufacturing AI cameras.

Kaynes Technology had signed an MoU with the Department of Industries at the Invest Kerala Global Investors’ Summit held in Kochi pledging ₹500-crore investment and offering over 2,000 employment opportunities in the State.

The land was handed over to the company in September 2025. The first unit was set up after renovating a building spread over 15,000 sq.ft in 28 acres. The foundation stone for the second phase spread over 80,000 sq.ft will be laid on Wednesday. Two more buildings will also be set up as part of the project. Around 100 people will get employment in the first unit. The two other buildings are expected to be ready by 2030, according to the release.
