The Department of Chemistry, Karnatak University, Dharwad, will organize a three-day National Workshop on Sophisticated Analytical Instruments (NWSAI–2026) from Wednesday.

The workshop will be inaugurated by the former Vice-Chancellor of Karnatak University S.K. Saidapur, while Vice-Chancellor A.M. Khan will preside over the inaugural session.

The workshop will commence at 10 a.m. at Dr. S. Siddappa Hall in the Department of Chemistry, a release from the university said.

During the three-day workshop, experts from various places such as Japan, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Dharwad will demonstrate the use of advanced experimental and analytical instruments to students and researchers, highlighting their applications in scientific research.

The workshop is being organised by the University Scientific Instruments Centre (USIC) in association with Karnatak University under the soft component activities of the PM-USHA Scheme and is co-sponsored by the DST–Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility (SAIF), New Delhi.

The valedictory programme will be held at 4.30 p.m. on Friday.

Retired professor S.T. Nandibewoor will deliver the valedictory address. Poet and university Syndicate member Shankar Vanikyal will preside over the session.
