A seminar on Mahatma Gandhi will be organised as part of the Gandhi Bharat programme at the Golden Jubilee Hall of Karnatak University in Dharwad on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Karnatak University Vice-Chancellor A.M. Khan will inaugurate the seminar. Resource persons Gururaj Patil, Venkatesh Machakanur, Arvind Karabasangouda, Suresh Sammasagi and Nagaraj Talwar will speak. Sri Siddarama Swami of Tontadarya Math, Gadag, will grace the occasion. A Kannada play Marali Mahatmanedege will be staged in the same hall at 3 p.m. This play is the first performance specially prepared by the repertory artistes of Rangayana Dharwad in connection with the centenary of the 1924 Belagavi Congress Session which was presided over by Gandhi. The Department of Gandhian Studies of Karnatak University, in collaboration with the KU College of Education NSS Unit, the National Service Scheme Cell and Rangayana Dharwad, will jointly organise the event.
