This was following a warrant issued by the 42nd Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court in connection with a case over a protest dating back to 2021. “I had sat on a protest in front of then Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar, demanding that all SSLC students be passed that year without exams, due to the pandemic. I was even wearing a mask. Police filed an FIR against me for that protest and it has dragged on till now. Despite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s assurance on November 1, 2025 that all cases against Kannada activists will be withdrawn, this case is proof that it is not yet the case,” Mr. Nagaraj told The Hindu.
