Efforts would be made to bring the temple of Lord Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy at Kanipakam near Chittoor under the Centre’s PRASHAD scheme (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive), according to Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu. Speaking to the media at Kanipakam after darshan at the temple on Sunday (February 22), the Union Minister said the PRASHAD scheme was intended to develop temples and tourist destinations across the country. He said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in coordination with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had embarked on a massive development mission in Andhra Pradesh. He added that the State was emerging as a vibrant destination for global investments.
