The award carries a cash prize of ₹10,000, along with a certificate and a citation. It was presented in recognition of Mr. Patel’s three decades of contribution to the field of visual arts, particularly through his work with the Indian Royal Academy of Art and Culture. VGP Group of Companies chairman V.G. Santhosam, Tamil Development Department Director Avvai N. Arul, journalist Nakkheeran Gopal and Nakkheeran Tamil Sangam joint secretary Sakthi P. Baskaran presented the award.
