WARANGAL Kakatiya University, Warangal, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Heritage, Telangana, to strengthen academic collaboration and promoting heritage and tourism studies. The exchange of MoUs took place in Hyderabad in the presence of Special Chief Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Jayesh Ranjan, and Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor K. Pratap Reddy on Saturday. University Registrar V. Ramachandram signed on behalf of Kakatiya University, while Heritage Department Director Kuthadi Arjuna Rao represented the department. With Telangana witnessing significant growth in the hospitality, heritage, and tourism sectors, officials said the agreement would create new avenues for students and researchers. The partnership will allow students direct access to archaeological sites, museums, heritage structures, and provide hands-on training, internships, and new research opportunities. According to the institutions, the primary purpose of the MoU is to establish long-term cooperation between Kakatiya University’s Department of History & Tourism Management and the state departments involved in heritage preservation, museology, conservation, and cultural management. The collaboration will include joint internship programs, heritage awareness initiatives, and tourism-related activities across Telangana. Key objectives outlined in the MoU include promoting museum-based education, enhancing public awareness on heritage conservation, developing cultural tourism, and strengthening capacity building in the heritage sector. Students, researchers, and heritage enthusiasts are expected to gain both academic and practical exposure through this partnership.
