A massive roadshow led by K. Annamalai, former IPS officer and BJP National Executive member, turned Kannur city into a hub of political activity on Friday (April 3, 2026), boosting the election campaign of NDA candidate C. Raghunath.

The roadshow, marked by a convoy of vehicles, band performance, and a large turnout of party workers and supporters, traversed key parts of the city before concluding at the old bus stand. The event drew enthusiastic crowds, reflecting heightened campaign momentum in the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Annamalai said that people in Kerala are seeking change and emphasized the need for a government aligned with the policies of the Government of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on welfare and development. He urged voters to elect Mr. Raghunath, stating that Kannur too requires a political shift. Several leaders, including U.T. Jayanthan, P.K. Velayudhan, K.K. Vinodkumar, Bindu Krishna, Azad Sashidaran and other leaders were part of the roadshow.

Mr. Annamalai, who arrived earlier in the day at Kannur International Airport, was received by party leaders. The campaign session that began near Elayavoor temple in the evening passed through several locations, including Elayavoor South ration shop, Mutolampara, Nunjikkavu, S.N. College and other places, before culminating in a public meeting at Thottada town.

The campaign trail will continue on Saturday (April 4), beginning near CP Stores at Kappad in the evening. The procession will pass through Mathrubhumi stop, Thillanur, Periangalayi, Elayavoor Colony, and other places before concluding at Thayyil town.
