National Education Society president G.S. Narayana Rao has called upon students to develop a sense of curiosity to examine the realities around critically.

He spoke after inaugurating Utthana-2026, decennial celebrations of the Management and Cultural festival, organised by the Department of MBA at JNN College of Engineering in Shivamogga recently.

Mr. Rao highlighted the importance of inculcating curiosity in the competitive era. “The youth are the ambassadors of the next generation. The responsibility of passing on the rich culture and values to the future generations rests on the shoulders of the youth. They should fulfil their responsibilities,” he stated.

He appealed to the students not to forget the culture and traditional values cultivated over centuries. The true objective of education was to instil humility and wisdom, he opined.

Dr. Y. Vijay Kumar, principal of the college, presided over the programme. NES treasurer D.G. Ramesh, directors T.R. Ashwatha Narayana Shetty, H.C. Shivakumar, Research Dean S.V. Satyanarayana, MBA Department Head Srikanth and others were present.

As part of the event, students participated in various competitions that included working on a business plan, best manager, business quiz, painting, group dance, fireless cooking, and singing, besides sports events.
