A 32-year-old man was arrested by the Teynampet police for stealing gold coins from a jewellery shop in T. Nagar on Sunday. The police said Shivadev, a resident of Kolathur, was working in the jewellery maintenance department of a jewellery shop located in T. Nagar. In February this year, the jewellery shop manager D’Souza Sahayaraj found that gold coins weighing more than 170 grams were missing during a routine audit.
