Mr. Gowda, a native of Chikkamagaluru, said that he heard loud explosions in Dubai, where he had been staying at a property belonging to one of his friends. “The situation is not normal in Dubai. This morning, while having breakfast, we heard three loud explosions. There is an atmosphere of fear in the city,” he said. The legislator said that he spoke to Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and Law Minister H.K. Patil over the phone and told them that people stuck at the airport need help. Arrangements should be made for their stay in the city until flight operations resume. “The local people and organisations of Kannadigas, have come forward to extend a helping hand to people stuck here. Yesterday, we had a Google Meet with representatives of Kannada Sangha here,” he stated.
