Revanna has alleged that the officers in the Revenue Department, including Hassan tahsildar, have joined hands with the land mafia in the taluk, and demanded that the Deputy Commissioner take action against them. During a press conference in Hassan on Wednesday, the Holenarasipur MLA said the tahsildar did not issue the khata in the name of an old woman from Kittankere in Hassan taluk, despite valid records. The tahsildar had asked the lady to file an appeal before the assistant commissioner’s court. “The tahsildar’s office has joined hands with the land mafia. The Deputy Commissioner should take action against the tahsildar; otherwise, we have to doubt if she is also involved in the irregularities,” said Mr. Revanna. He also alleged that the district administration had failed to act on the illegal mining activities in the government at Mallapanahalli. He had written to senior officers of the Revenue Department on this issue. “Let the Revenue Minister take action to stop illegal activities,” he stated. Further, the JD(S) leader said that his party would stage a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hassan if the administration failed to stop attempts to take over the land notified for the IIT and airport.
