Value-based education is essential for the survival and development of society, the meeting said. The convocation marked the finale of a three-day conference organised by the Wisdom Islamic Organisation. Graduates and postgraduates of Jamia Al-Hind Al-Islamia campuses at Mini Ooty and Panakkad were given away their sanads (degrees) at the function. The convocation reminded the people that Islamic renaissance was made possible in Kerala through an integrated religious and temporal educational approach. Arabic colleges played a major role in creating social awareness against superstitions that existed in the society, the meeting pointed out. Sheikh Abul Qasim Abdul Aleem Al-Madani, scholar from Uttar Pradesh, inaugurated the convocation. Wisdom Islamic Organisation State president P.N. Abdul Latheef Madani presided over the function. Najeeb Kanthapuram, MLA, KPCC secretary K.P. Noushad Ali, CPI(M) district secretary V.P. Anil, Sheikh Sufiyan from Uttar Pradesh, senior scholars Kunhimohammed Madani Parappur and Hussain Salafi, and Wisdom Islamic Organisation State general secretary T.K. Ashraf were among those who spoke. Sheikh Abdul Latheef Al Kindi, president of Kashmir Ahle Hadith, inaugurated the conference on Friday (February 6). In his address, he urged the younger generation to understand that only a society empowered by knowledge can effectively resist anarchy and social disorder. On Saturday (February 7), speaking at a Hadith conference, P.K. Kunhalikutty said that people of faith must confront challenges with tolerance and wisdom. Abdul Aziz Khadi from Mumbai inaugurated the session. Sheikh Suhaib Hasan Mubarakfoori from Uttar Pradesh inaugurated a session on Arabic colleges, highlighting their history and mission. He noted the significant role Arabic colleges played in promoting and advancing the Arabic language in Kerala.
