YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday chaired a key meeting with party MLAs and MLCs at the party central office at Tadepalli to chalk out the strategy to be adopted in the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly and Council.

He accused the ruling coalition of deliberately attempting to suppress the opposition party’s voice in the House.

Despite being the only opposition party in the Legislative Assembly, the YSRCP was not being recognised as the principal Opposition “to prevent it from securing adequate speaking time.”

“The government does not want our voice to be heard. That is why it is denying us official recognition,” he said, and urged party members to raise public issues in the Council, where the party had stronger numerical representation.

Laddu row

On the ongoing controversy over the Tirumala laddu prasadam and alleged irregularities in ghee supply to the TTD, the former Chief Minister accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of spreading misinformation.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that tenders for ghee supply had been finalised in May 2024 and that the supply began only after the change in government. He further alleged that tankers rejected after quality tests were later reintroduced during Mr. Naidu’s tenure, citing references from a CBI charge-sheet.

Mr. Jagan also accused the coalition government of being “mired in scams,” alleging that 54 acres of land worth ₹5,000 crore in Visakhapatnam were allotted to GITAM University, reportedly linked to the Chief Minister’s relatives.

Calling on party legislators to prepare thoroughly and present evidence-based arguments, he expressed confidence that YSRCP would return to power in the next elcetion.
