Responding to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments on Thursday, Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Satya Kumar Yadav said the YSRCP leader was making frantic efforts to ensure that he stays politically relevant.

In a statement on Thursday, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav reminded the YSRCP leader of his defeat in the 2024 Assembly elections and urged him to reflect on the reasons. “He should introspect why the people of Rayalaseema, who led him to victory in 2019, withdrew their support for him,” the Health Minister said.

Before resorting to slinging mud against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the YSRCP leader should remember how he took up several projects without permissions in the name of Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation scheme, which were later halted by the National Green Tribunal, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said.

He also mentioned how the YSRCP leader failed to clear the dues of network hospitals under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme. Stating that Mr. Jagan was spreading false allegations to mislead the people, the Minister said the number of beneficiaries of the scheme increased by 80% after the NDA came to power.

The Minister also criticised Mr. Jagan for “misinterpretating” the PPP model, and added that it was because of his ignorance that he could not tell the difference between PPP and privatisation.
