Indian Union Muslim League and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi will contest in 2 seats respectively as a part of the DMK-led alliance in the upcoming assembly elections. The seat sharing deal was signed

With a total of 11 parties including Makkal Needhi Maiam and more recently DMDK having joined the alliance, it is believed that the DMK has been urging their alliance partners to give up on their seats.

Therefore, IUML which contested in 3 seats in 2021 will contest in just 2 seats while MMK has retained both the seats.

“Since 11 alliance partners have been accommodated, we were urged to reduce our demand. So we have agreed to contest in 2 seats,” he said.

IUML national president K.M. Kader Mohideen said that the party has sought a seat in Puducherry alternatively.
