A flattened paddy field at Keezha Pillayarkulam. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Isolated unseasonal downpour that drenched a few parts of the district on Wednesday evening for more than an hour has flattened standing paddy in some areas. Paddy raised on over 150 acres in Keezha Pillaiyarkulam near Maanur has been badly affected by the unseasonal downpour. Each farmer had raised paddy on 3 or 4 acres and they were about to start harvest within the next 15 to 20 days.
