Parts of south Kerala are likely to receive isolated summer showers on Sunday, triggered by a low-pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. A yellow alert has been issued for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki, warning of isolated heavy rain.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday, a low-pressure area has formed over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal on Saturday.

The associated cyclonic circulation is likely to move west-northwestwards, becoming more marked over around the same region during the next 24 hours. Under the influence of the system, parts of State are likely to experience scattered showers, bringing a respite from the rising temperature.
