The district administration in association with the Department of Tamil, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University College, Nagampatti, organised an international seminar and released a book on the work and publications of V.O. Chidambaranar to mark his 154th birth anniversary. At the book launch, Collector K. Elambahavath delivered the presidential address. He said that in the history of Tamil Nadu, V.O. Chidambaranar was widely known as the freedom fighter and Kappalottiya Tamizhan for his resistance against colonial rule. He was also a profound Tamil scholar and meticulous editor. The research volume titled, The Works and Publications of V.O.C was a significant effort to highlight his multifaceted personality., he added. A total of 104 students, professors and Tamil enthusiasts from across the State presented research papers at the seminar.
