The third edition of the International Energy Festival, organised with the objective of leading Kerala towards energy self-sufficiency and a sustainable green future, will begin in Kochi on Saturday (February 7, 2026).

Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty will inaugurate the festival at a function to be held on the campus of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (Kufos), Panangad, at 10 a.m. K. Babu, MLA, will preside over the function. Puneet Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Power department, will speak.

The festival is being organised by the Energy Management Centre with the theme ‘Empowering Energy Future’.

Kufos Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Bijukumar, Electrical Inspector G. Vinod, Factories and Boilers Director P. Pramod, and Energy Management Center Director R. Harikumar will speak.

The Minister will also present prizes to winners of the State-level drawing competition organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency on the occasion.

An exhibition of energy-efficient home appliances, solar products, and electric vehicles will also be held.

Practical training sessions in ‘e-cooking’ using electricity has been arranged as part of the festival for Kudumbashree members and entrepreneurs.
