The Department of Imaging Sciences and Interventional Radiology, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) is hosting the 12th annual conference of the Indian chapter of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), which will be held in the city from February 27 to March 1.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Mohanan Kunnummal, will inaugurate the scientific programme on February 28.

The three-day event will bring together a global community of clinicians, scientists, and industry experts to explore the latest breakthroughs in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and data processing, a statement issued by the SCTIMST said.

The conference coincides with the golden jubilee year of the Department of Imaging Sciences and Interventional Radiology at the SCTIMST, which has produced some of the renowned national and international experts in the field.

The scientific sessions will have a comprehensive programme covering low-field MRI, automation, paediatric neuroimaging and advancements in body imaging.

Renowned international faculty from NYU, Stanford and the University of Pittsburgh will be delivering keynote lectures. Special sessions are being held, dedicated to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, detailing the development of indigenous 1.5T MRI systems.

Major industries in the field of MRI will demonstrate cutting-edge tools and workflow integration. The conference aims at serving as a vital platform for strengthening fundamental magnetic resonance concepts while showcasing high-impact research from across the nation, the SCTIMST said.

About 320 delegates and more than 45 national and international faculty will participate in this three-day event.
