Kanniyakumari district Superintendent of Police R. Stalin inaugurated Integrated Election Control Room at SP office in Nagercoil on Wednesday, to ensure free and fair and unbiased elections with public cooperation.

The control room comprises the election complaint cell, social media monitoring cell and police control room.

The election complaint cell has been established to report the election related violations, including cash distribution in their respective assembly constituencies. To facilitate the process easier for the public, separate contact numbers have been introduced for each constituency.

The numbers are as follows: Kanniyakumari 73052 82100, Nagercoil 73587 76100, Colachel 73580 68100, Padmanabhapuram 73974 63100, Vilavancode 73580 63100 and Killiyoor 73580 34100. In addition people can also contact the feedback centre at 77082 39100 and District SP at 81222 23319.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Stalin said that the public can report election related violence through the dedicated contact numbers provided for each constituency and the identity of the complainant would be kept confidential. He added that defamatory content related to elections and election rules on social media platforms would be monitored and strict legal actions would be taken against those found violating the rules.
