From agriculture to healthcare, aspiring entrepreneurs on Tuesday showcased innovations at The Hindu Deep Tech Summit 2026, reflecting a growing ambition to enter the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Gokula Kannan K., co-founder and director of Valyria Visions Private Limited, who was present at his stall, said, “Our startup through its platform Phenolens focuses on solving a very fundamental but ignored problem in India’s ₹25 lakh crore crop credit system — banks are lending without actually knowing what is happening on the ground.”

“Today, loan approvals depend on field visits, paper records, and assumptions. Phenolens replaces this with satellite-based intelligence that verifies land boundaries, confirms whether crops actually exist, measures acreage, and generates a risk score within two to three minutes, even before a loan is disbursed. It also continues monitoring crops after disbursal, helping banks act before defaults happen,” he added.

Surender Sundaram’s Propel Tech Innovations, incubated a year ago, focuses on the “testing and development of advanced defence technologies, with focus on material science, aerospace, and robotics.”

The startup is trying to address the defence sector’s reliance on procuring essential components from other countries and it is working to develop and supply these components domestically at a lower cost.

Tamirabot, founded by its director Velayutham S., develops and manufactures next-generation electric vehicle charging connectors for fast-charging application. “We have our patented technology for boosting the charging efficiency by 7.8% by reducing the thermal rate buildup within the connectors that causes energy loss and lifetime of the connector,” he said.

Team Rudra from SRMIST displayed its rover at the summit. The team builds Mars rover prototypes from the scratch every year and takes those to international competitions where it is tested across four missions simulating real Mars conditions: Autonomous Navigation Task, Science Mission, Equipment Servicing Task, and Delivery Mission.
