Defiance of the Congress party’s directive to campaign unitedly in the Davangere South byelection has triggered infighting among minority leaders, with three-time MLC Abdul Jabbar resigning as KPCC Minority Cell chief on Saturday. Mr. Jabbar served as the KPCC Minority Cell chief for five years, and some leaders have been questioning his style of functioning. He blamed some of the party legislators, who on Friday claimed that some minority leaders conspired to defeat the Congress nominee Samarth in the byelection.
