About 25 councillors from the Indore Municipal Corporation visited the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) office on Thursday. GVMC Additional Commissioners P.M. Satya Veni, P. Nallanayya, and D.V. Ramana Murthy, along with Chief Medical Officer E.N.V. Naresh Kumar, gave a presentation explaining the various initiatives being undertaken by the GVMC towards maintaining cleanliness in the city. The presentation covered the functioning of sanitation workers, garbage transfer stations, Waste-to-Energy plant, drinking water supply system, Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra programmes, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) centres and other programmes. The senior councillors of the Indore Municipal Corporation, Suresh Takkalkar and Kanchan Gidwani shared that they were impressed with the cleanliness in the city. They also appreciated the management of Waste-to-Energy plant, floating solar power plants, treating sewage water and supplying it to industries. They shared that the Indore Municipal Corporation operates Sanjeevani Clinics and yoga centres in every ward to safeguard public health. Later, GVMC officials and Indore Municipal Corporation councillors exchanged mementoes as a mark of respect.
