The Indian Army and the French Army conducted a Subject Matter Expert Exchange on March 9 and 10 to strengthen professional military cooperation and enhance mutual understanding of evolving aspects of modern warfare.

The Indian Army said that the interaction was focused on the employment of Long Range Vectors (LRVs) and Precision Guided Munitions, which are increasingly seen as critical capabilities in contemporary battlefields. Military experts from both sides exchanged views on operational employment, doctrinal developments and emerging technologies shaping the use of precision strike systems in present-day conflicts.

Officials said the discussions highlighted the growing importance of long-range strike capabilities that enable armed forces to carry out accurate attacks on strategic targets while minimising collateral damage. The dialogue also examined global trends in deep-strike operations and precision fires.

The engagement between the Indian Army and the French Army is part of a broader defence cooperation between India and France, aimed at strengthening interoperability, enhancing professional understanding and keeping both sides informed about evolving global military trends.
