A new building constructed at a cost of ₹24 crore on the premises of Dharapuram Government Hospital has increased in-patient bed-strength by 100, raising the total intake capacity to 250.

The amount was sanctioned under National Health Mission during 2023 for upgrade of the Dharapuram Government Hospital to the standards of the District Headquarters Hospital in Kangayam, which already handled advanced procedures, including joint replacement surgeries under Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Scheme.

The 62,228 sq ft six-floor building was inaugurated on Wednesday by Minister N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj in the presence of Tiruppur Collector Manish S. Narnaware.
