Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Saturday (February 28, 2026) inaugurated two industrial units— the Coca-Cola bottling plant and the JK Cement unit— in Buxar district, at a cost of approximately ₹1,700 crore.

After inauguration, Mr. Choudhary said that the two projects are a major step towards industrial development and creating 10 million jobs in the State.

Cement unit, built at the cost of ₹500 crore in the Brahmapur Industrial Area, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the plant spans 100 acres and has a production capacity of 3 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA).

Mr. Choudhary said that the unit will ensure timely supply of high-quality cement to Bihar and surrounding areas. He added that previously, the company had to source from its unit in Prayagraj, but now local production will reduce both time and cost.

Similarly, a Coca-Cola bottling plant, built on 65 acres of land at a cost of ₹1,200 crore in Nawanagar, has also been inaugurated. This plant has a production capacity of 3.24 lakh cases (cs) per day. The unit was constructed by Coca-Cola franchisee M/s SLMG Beverages Private Limited. Minister of Industries, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal was also present on the occasion.

Mr. Choudhary highlighted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was attracting large investments in the state under the new industrial policy.

“These projects will directly and indirectly create employment for thousands of youths and strengthen the local economy. The government aims to create 10 million jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years. Industrial units like JK Cement and Coca-Cola will play a key role in achieving this goal,” Mr. Choudhary added.

He also said that industry and government can work together to empower Bihar. Mr. Choudhary informed that the state-of-the-art plants in Buxar will not only meet the state’s growing infrastructure needs but will also provide a new direction for regional development.

Mr. Choudhary also added that along with providing direct employment opportunities to thousands of people, it will also generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities in transportation, logistics, and other supporting sectors.

“Now, the supply of beverages in the state will be possible locally, reducing transportation costs and increasing state revenue,”Mr. Choudhary said.

Considering environmental protection, the plant has installed wastewater treatment facilities, promoting PET recycling, and developing approximately 40% of the campus as a green zone.

He pointed out that this project is an important step towards industrial development as well as maintaining environmental balance in the State.
