Like the rest of the country, most of Andhra Pradesh is also expected to receive below-normal rainfall during the Southwest Monsoon between June and September this year, according to the long-range forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday (April 13, 2026). It may be noted that the State receives most of its rainfall during the Southwest Monsoon. Except for four-five districts in central Andhra Pradesh which may see normal or slightly above-normal rainfall, the rest of the State is painted in yellow, indicating below-normal rainfall for four months. According to the data, a few places in the North Coastal A.P. may also see above-normal rainfall. But the probablity of the same is between 35% and 45%., the IMD stated.
