II PU results: Urban students fare better than rural in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi

Urban students performed better than those in rural areas in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts in the second year pre university results announced on Thursday.

In Dakshina Kannada, 18,067 of the 19,037 students (94.9%) from urban areas passed the examination. While in rural areas, 17,123 of the 18,103 students (94.59%) cleared the examination. A total of 35,190 students passed the examination, which included 34,155 freshers, 845 private students, and 190 repeat candidates.
