As the examination for II PU commenced on Saturday, 551 students did not appear for the Kannada language paper in Yadgir district, and 1,140 remained absent in Raichur district, according to officials. As many as 8,627 students were allotted to write the examination in Yadgir district. Of which, 8,076 students appeared for the examination, while 551 students were absent. In Raichur district, 17,574 were allotted, and of them, 16,434 wrote the examination. The examination was conducted in a smooth and transparent manner, sources said. As many as 20 examination centres were set up in Yadgir district and 43 in Raichur district.
