Ashok Kumar, has asked the police personnel to render better services to the public by using the latest technology. Mr. Ashok Kumar participated in the annual crime review and coordination meeting, along with Collector K. Vetri Selvi, Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore, Additional SP Susmitha R., trainee IPS Jaya Sharma and other officers on Friday. The IGP said police should maintain law and order, acquire knowledge on investigation methods and projects, latest technology, equipment and tracking system. The Collector appreciated the police for conducting ‘jataras’, VIP tours and other events incident-free in the last few months, and stressed the need for coordination among various departments to check crime. Mr. Pratap Shiva Kishore said with the cooperation of the Collector and officers of various departments, Eluru district has been brought under 100 per cent CCTV surveillance, and bereaved family members of the police personnel were provided jobs on compassionate grounds. The SP felicitated finger-print unit Inspector Srinivas Rao, who helped detect many cases, particularly the property offences. Mr. Srinivas Rao has assisted the police in detecting 45 cases in 2024 and 75 cases in 2025, the SP said. Earlier, the IGP and SP reviewed crimes in Eluru, Jangareddygudem, Nuzvid and Polavaram police sub-divisions.
