Following the conclusion of the Assembly elections, political parties have begun assessing their prospects across the district’s five constituencies —Thodupuzha, Idukki, Devikulam, Peerumade, and Udumbanchola. The CPI(M) Idukki District Secretariat has observed that some constituencies witnessed a tight fight in the district. CPI(M) District Secretary C.V. Varghese told the media on Friday that the party would retain its four sitting seats. “The party has overcome the UDF’s upper hand in this election,” said Mr. Varghese.
