Thousands of Muslims offering special prayers to mark Id-ul-Fitr at the Eidgah Maidan at Tilaknagar, in Mysuru on Saturday. | Photo Credit: M. A. Sriram Muslim brethren on Saturday celebrated Id-ul-Fitr with traditional gaiety and fervour, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan. Special prayers were offered at the Eidgah Maidan and at mosques across the city. Thousands of Muslims gathered at the Eidgah Maidan, attended mass prayers and exchanged greetings. Children added colour to the celebrations, dressed in vibrant festive attire. Prayers were also held at the Eidgah Maidan in Ghousianagar. The mass prayers at Tilaknagar were led by Sir Khazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohammad Usman Shariff. Elaborate security arrangements were put in place by the Mysuru City Police at Eidgah Maidan and near mosques to ensure peaceful celebrations. Tanveer Sait, MLA, attended the prayers at a mosque on Ashoka Road.
