The 96th State Conference of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM), Kerala Chapter, was held in Thrissur under the auspices of the Jubilee Mission Medical College on Wednesday. The conference was presided over by Dr. Kavitha Ravi, president, IAPM Kerala chapter. Fr. Renny Mundenkurien, Director, Jubilee Mission Medical College, inaugurated it. As part of the scientific programme, a State-level seminar on “Core Biopsy” was conducted. The session was led by Dr. Sheima R. Das, Head of the Department of Pathology, Government Medical College, Manjeri. Pathology experts from across the state participated in the discussions. During the conference, the new office-bearers of the IAPM Kerala Chapter – Dr. Kavitha Ravi (president); Dr. Bindiya Gisuthan (secretary) and Dr. Ruby Elizabeth Elias (joint secretary) – assumed charge. The conference concluded with a strong resolution to promote quality assurance in all diagnostic laboratories, standardise service charges, ensure minimum wages for junior pathologists, and seek government support to implement these measures effectively across the State.
