Officials from the Department of Income Tax conducted raids at the residences and office premises of DMK functionaries in Salem on Monday. Around 1 p.m., seven teams from the Department from Salem started searches at DMK’s Salem East district treasurer Sriram’s house, finance firm, and textile shop in Attur. The officials also raided the residences of DMK functionaries Balasubramaniam, Sampath, and Manickam in Attur. The raid continued for more than five hours and concluded around 8 p.m. Sources said that no valuables were seized in the raids.
