The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out enforcement operations on Saturday, reclaiming government land in Miyapur and securing property belonging to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) in Rampally village of Keesara mandal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

In Miyapur, HYDRAA reclaimed 15 acres of government land at Maktha Mahabubpet, estimated to be worth around ₹3,000 crore. Located along the Miyapur–Bachupally main road, the land had been encroached upon through temporary boundary markers. The agency removed the encroachments, demarcated boundaries, installed fencing and erected boards declaring it as government property.

Officials said the action followed earlier complaints of encroachments in the same survey number. In December last year, HYDRAA had cleared encroachments of over five acres and 18 sheds spread across about 200 metres along the main road.

Amid reports of illegal registrations of government land in this survey number and the suspension of a sub-registrar, HYDRAA conducted joint field inspections with officials of the departments concerned and confirmed the encroachments. Acting on the directions of HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, the agency reclaimed the land and completed fencing on Saturday.

In a separate operation, HYDRAA secured 4.01 acres of land belonging to the HMWSSB in Rampally village. The land had been allotted by the government for the water board’s requirements. Following local resistance to boundary construction, HYDRAA stepped in, carried out a joint inspection with the departments concerned and fenced the land, installing boards identifying it as HMWSSB property.
