The West Zone police arrested Sayeeda Begum of Hyderabad, who allegedly had links with ISIS and AQIS terrorist organisations.

Police, had arrested three terror suspects, Md. Rahamatullah Shariff, Mohammad Danish and Mirza Sohail Baig of Vijayawada on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), and Sayeeda Begum on Wednesday (March 25).

“A native of Chanchalguda of Hyderabad, Sayeeda, was deserted by her husband. She was staying with her parents, along with her six-year-old son,” an Intelligence officer said.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Sayeeda Begum (38), was among the 15-member gang of Mohammad Ragamatullah Shariff.

She followed the teachings of the leaders of banned terrorist outfits and forwarded the content on ‘Jihad activities’ to other members of the group, a police officer said.

“Sayeeda Begum was in contact with other group members on various social media platforms since a year,” the police officer said.

Speaking to The Hindu on Wednesday, West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N. S. V. K. Durga Rao said that a police team picked up Sayeeda Begum from her house in the wee hours on Wednesday.

“She would be produced in the court in Vijayawada on Wednesday,” Durga Rao told The Hindu.
