The Railway Ministry is currently in consultations with the Telangana government to finalise the rail alignment. The proposed railway line is expected to run along the alignment of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), ensuring integrated road and rail connectivity around Hyderabad, Mr. Reddy said. Following the completion of the DPR, consultations will be held with the State government and other stakeholders. The project will subsequently require approvals from NITI Aayog and the Union Finance Ministry before receiving final clearance. Once completed, the Regional Ring Rail project is expected to significantly enhance transportation between the districts surrounding Hyderabad. It is also projected to stimulate regional economic growth by improving connectivity, promoting industrial expansion, and facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers. In his letter, the Union Minister thanked MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy for taking a special initiative to pursue the project in the interest of Telangana and his parliamentary constituency.
