Hyderabad is steadily evolving into a global hub for innovation and investments, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu told a German delegation that is in India as part of a study of industrial development across BRICS countries.

The city boasts of world-class infrastructure and is already a hub for IT and electronics, pharmaceutical, defence and aviation industries, he said, adding that regardless of regime changes, progressive industrial policies have been continued to provide stability and confidence to investors.

Telangana government is at the forefront in implementing innovative policies to effectively address challenges posed by a rapidly changing global landscape, the Minister said. The emphasis is also on skill development. The ambitious Bharat Future City project, mooted by the government near Hyderabad and comprising AI City, Net Zero City and the Young India Skills University, will lay a strong foundation for the State’s future. With abundant human resources and a deep talent pool, Telangana wants to ensure industries never face a shortage of skilled professionals, he said during the meeting at the Secretariat here.

The Minister’s office, in a release, said the German delegation is visiting India to study industrial development across BRICS countries, investment-friendly ecosystems and the impact of advanced technologies. Representatives of Global Bridges, an international non-profit organisation, are part of the delegation.

Discussing the industrial opportunities available in Telangana and the incentives the State government offers to foreign investors, Mr.Sridhar Babu said the semiconductor sector is gaining momentum in Telangana, with companies from Taiwan and Korea initiating activities in chip design and manufacturing. Several global players are also coming forward to establish data centres. With Germany’s technological expertise, Telangana can advance even further in the engineering sector, the Minister said.
