Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Parliament. Mr. Lokesh acknowledged the Central government’s pivotal role in garnering the support of all the political parties in favour of Andhra Pradesh. He told the Prime Minister that the passage of the ‘Amaravati Bill’ marked a crucial milestone in the State’s journey towards having a permanent capital. It was a defining moment that reaffirmed confidence in Amaravati as the State’s sole capital, and a pointer to strong coordination between the State and the Centre, he said.
