A campaign to provide the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to all girls aged 14 will be launched on Saturday (February 28, 2026) at 2 p.m. at the Ernakulam General Hospital (GH). The campaign aims to vaccinate 15,934 children in the district. The event is part of the national-level vaccination campaign of the Health Ministry, which begins on Saturday, to provide a one-dose HPV vaccination to all girls aged 14 within a span of three months. Free HPV vaccination facility is available at all government health centres. To book for vaccination, register on the U-WIN portal. The facility is available on the website https://uwin.mohfw.gov.in/home, a release issued by the District Medical Officer noted. The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) and the World Health Organisation had recommended the vaccination.
