Hotel owner arrested for assaulting employee in Valiyathura

A hotel owner was arrested by the Valiyathura police for allegedly assaulting an employee who demanded payment of pending wages.

The accused, Joseph Stephen, 46, owner of a hotel at Vettucaud, was apprehended in connection with the incident that occurred late February 27.

According to the police, the victim, Rejith, 40, a native of Pathanamthitta and an employee at the hotel, was allegedly attacked after he sought his overdue salary. The accused purportedly assaulted Mr. Rejith and attempted to cause grievous harm.

The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
